THANK YOU LIVING WORD BAPTIST CHURCH
As NOHFH awaits the start of rebuilding the home on Cedar Grove Road, a group of volunteers came out to clean up the yard. Armed with rakes, shovels, a gas powered weed whacker and more, members of the Living Word Baptist Church cleaned up both the front and back yard of the house. These volunteers were anxious to come and help out their "neighbor" as this Brush with Kindness was personal. For years, the Living Word Baptist Church operated out of the Cedar Grove Elementary School and were literally next door to the family who has been displaced by the fire. Below are some pictures from the day.
THANK YOU VENTURE GROUP #129
Tex" and 3 of his volunteers from Venture Crew #129, spent the day shoveling and raking topsoil in preparation for landscaping. Shown are Tex (David Wills), David Milne, Devon Santos and Melissa Bartley. Kelly McCormick is missing from the picture. Venture
Crew is an advanced group of young adults up to age 21, many of which were boy and girl scouts. They go camping, hiking, rock
climbing and some extreme activities, but they also participate in community activities such as the volunteer work at our
house in Manchester. They meet at The American Legion hall on Church Rd.
in Toms River, under the guidance of Tex and Mr. & Mrs. Passiment Thank You Kiwanis! On a recent rainy, windy Friday, volunteers from the
Kiwanis braved the elements and came out to lend a hand in the construction of our Manchester home. Below are pictures from
that day. ![]() ![]()
Our Campus Chapters continue to give of their time, enthusiasm and growing expertise. Below are pictures from 2 recent A
Brush With Kindness events. Vital repairs to these homes will mean a more comfortable winter season for the homeowners.
