At a challenging time in our world Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity seeks to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.
This global mission is driven by a local vision to eliminate poverty housing through a paradigm of housing solutions. Today, Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity provides a myriad of residential related services to working poor families and individuals of Northern Ocean County.
Since 2000, Northern Ocean Habitat has constructed 18 new homes for hard-working people in the community. In addition to new home construction, our affiliate repairs homes through weatherization, Aging in Place and A Brush with Kindness initiatives, and operates the Re-Store, a retail shop which generates house building and repair funds through sales of new and used furniture, household items and construction materials. In the three years following Super Storm Sandy, Northern Ocean Habitat provided extensive disaster relief and rebuilding efforts, helping over 60 families return to their restored, storm-ravaged homes. This paradigm of housing solutions is revitalizing our community. Not only do they provide a decent, safe home for the homeowners that we serve, but it also touches the hearts of the volunteers, neighbors, local businesses, municipalities, sponsors and foundations. I invite you to explore our site, learn about what we do, and make a difference with us.
