Caring for a Special Community

On August 20th, Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity kept another date with 21 Plus, a non-profit residential home for special needs adults in Pine Beach. Through the Home Preservation and Neighborhood Revitalization Program, our core group of volunteers, Bill Duedeck, Arnie Oftedal, and Jeff Dickert showed up on the beautiful summer day to fix doors, siding, and windows. “Last year we power washed the front of the house,” Arnie said. “It still looks great!” All smiles, resident Margaret sat at a table with Michelle, a member of the staff and her housemates sharing a snack.  Still making a difference amid the CoVid 19 Virus, the guys remained socially distanced while working, and posed for a quick photo to mark another successful repair for our special residents.
