Meet Miguel/Truck Ambassador

Miguel joined Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity in July of 2020. We had just reopened from several months of closure due to the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic. We were seeking a part-time worker. Miguel needed to pick up extra hours to accommodate his wife’s job schedule and help care for his three-year-old daughter.

Originally from Elizabeth, Miguel wears many hats, one being a fireman. When he is not on the road loading donations onto our truck you can find him brandishing a firehose for the City of Elizabeth Engine 3 Fire Department on theirs. Miguel graduated training in 2016 after having worked as an EMT. He is a multi-faceted young man. When he’s not working, he enjoys reading crime novels as well as writing articles for the community paper.

Miguel also enjoys carpentry work and painting.” He says, “I’ve gotten pretty good doing home-projects.” At some point, he plans to find time to help out in the construction area of Northern Ocean Habitat. “I do keep busy,” he says, “but right now when I’m not working, I cherish my family time.”
