A Night of Hope – Habitat for Humanity at The Grenville
BAY HEAD, N.J. – On Friday, June 9th, Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity will hold its first annual Night of Hope at the historic Grenville in Bay Head from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
As the five-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy approaches, this event celebrates the impact and difference that Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity makes in providing a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
The evening will consist of hors d’oeuvres, a full dinner, dessert, beer and wine, live music and raffles including a silent auction with beach-themed prizes. Habitat homeowners will be present to share their stories of strength, stability and self-reliance.
To date, Northern Ocean Habitat has constructed 17 affordable homes and completed over 145 repairs for low-income residents in northern Ocean County. They were a catalyst during Hurricane Sandy, having completed 60 critical home repairs in the most devastated parts of the county.
The event is being generously hosted by The Grenville – a continuation of their support to their community. The Grenville played a critical role in providing food for emergency workers and residents after Hurricane Sandy hit in October of 2012, helping prepare upwards of 500 meals per day. The Bay Head Bistro operation, as it was called, operated out of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Bay Head and lasted for a full year immediately following the storm. Estimates say upwards of a quarter million meals were served through the Bay Head Bistro that year.
