Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity to Break Ground on 18th Home

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity will break ground on its eighteenth home at 2412 First Avenue, Toms River this Saturday, January 14th at 9 a.m. The Township of Toms River, under Mayor Kelaher, gifted Northern Ocean Habitat the lot on which this home will be built for a selected local family to purchase as an affordable home. Northern Ocean Habitat is proud to continue its partnership with M&T Bank as a major sponsor for this build.

This Habitat project is a continuation of the Building Homes from the Heart blitz build event which took place in early October at the Ocean County Mall in partnership with 100.1 WJRZ. Under the leadership of Habitat for Humanity construction professionals, volunteer groups from local businesses, schools and organizations built wall panels for the home in the Ocean County Mall parking lot. The panels were then used to erect the frame of the house where it proudly stood over the weekend before being dismantled and stored as fundraising continued.

While the final construction phase is set to begin, more funding is needed to complete the home for the deserving partner family. To make a contribution, please visit nohfh.com/donate-now. For more information on sponsorships and funding, contact Habitat’s Program Director at programdirector@nohfh.com or at 732-228-7962 ext. 109.

All are invited for fellowship and refreshments provided by the Four Seasons Diner immediately following the ceremony at the Toms River Senior Center, 652 Garfield Avenue.
