Repair Program Requirements

  • Home must be owner-occupied.
  • The home must be the primary residence of the owner.
  • Homeowners must be current on mortgage payments and property taxes.
  • The home must be insured.


You must reside in northern Ocean County in one of the following towns:  Bay Head, Beachwood, Berkeley (Bayville), Brick, Island Heights, Jackson, Lakehurst, Lakewood, Lavallette, Manchester (Whiting), Mantoloking, Ocean Gate, Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach, Pine Beach, Plumsted (New Egypt), Seaside Heights, Seaside Park, South Toms River, or Toms River.

Ability to Pay

Homeowners seeking repairs from Habitat must be willing to pay a nominal Cost Recovery fee. Amount is determined based on size of repair job.


Willingness to Partner

When selected, you become a partner with Habitat for Humanity. Homeowners participate in the repair of their home by completing sweat equity, depending on the size of the project. We ask that homeowners work alongside our volunteers if they are physically able. If not, participants will have other sweat equity options.



Home must be in need of repair. You and your family will be considered if your income falls within our requirements. (see right)
